Best Videos of 2010 (Nos. 50-41)

Well, we've come to the end of another year and now I begin my Best of Lists.  This week I will be unveiling my favorite videos, the following week will be my favorite tracks, and the last week will be my favorite albums of the year.  Today is my list of videos from 50-41.

50.  DeLorean - Real Love

A picturesque beachside video accompanying a breezy song from Delorean takes a surprising turn mid point.

49.  Mew - Beach

Striking cinematography illuminates this gorgeously twisted clip from the Danish band.

48.  Eluvium - The Motion Makes Me Last

Bridges and architecture appear to float by in the clouds, untethered to the ground, in this haunting video.

47.  Grinderman - Heathen Child

Surreal tomfoolery from Nick Cave's side project Grinderman.

46.  Caribou - Odessa

This impressionistic clip goes well with the fragmented nature of the song, perfectly encapsulating the ending of a relationship.

45.  HEALTH - We Are Water

NSFW clip from the LA noise rockers.  As you can tell, I like videos or movies that subvert the obvious.  I am not a fan of the slasher movie genre, but I did enjoy this skewed take on it.

44.  Glasser - Mirrorage

Hypnotic clip from the electronic chanteuse Glasser.

43.  ceo - Come With Me

Gorgeous black and white cinematography highlights this surreal clip from ceo.

42.  Cee Lo - Fuck You

Fun clip for the foul and utterly perfect song from Cee Lo.

41.  Foals - Miami

Foals - "Miami" from Sub Pop Records on Vimeo.

Another video that subverted my expectations.  The song is standard Foals' alternative guitar rock while the visuals are from an alternate universe where muscleheads battle drag queens.  Never fails to make me smile.
