Jam of the Day: Ambar Lucid - "Fantasmas"

Ambar Lucid, the seventeen-year-old musician/singer from New Jersey, makes a stunning impression with the single "Fantasmas." I can see Almodovar using it as the centerpiece to one of his films. It's very cinematic.

Jam of the Day: The Cinematic Orchestra ft. Tawiah - "Wait for Now (Pépé Bradock's Wobbly Mix)"

This song is just stunningly beautiful. Tawiah's voice hovers over a chill mix that builds from aching strings and twinkling synths to a deep house groove.

Jam of the Day: Cubicolor - "Wake Me Up"

There is something special about the band Cubicolor. On paper, they don't appear any different from a hundred other synthpop bands like Rufus du Sol and the like, however, the combination of their almost sensual approach to their synth work with deeply emotive vocals, makes them stand out. Their new album Hardly A Day, Hardly A Night comes out at the end of February. Latest single "Wake Me Up" is another gorgeous song that endears me more to them.

Jam of the Day: Röyksopp - "Shores of Easy (Lost Tapes)"

Röyksopp has been releasing a steady stream of B-Sides, outtakes, and rarities as a playlist called Lost Tapes. I am really digging the almost 14-minute "Shores of Easy," which slowly builds from lengthy synth squalls to delightful acid bass squiggles to a finale that sends the song off into the stratosphere.
