Kornél Kovács ft. Aluna - "Follow You"

 

Swedish producer Kornél Kovács teams up with Aluna for this delicate garage-influenced track. 

Iceage - "Shake The Feeling"

Danish punk rock quartet Iceage is set to release the compilation Shake The Feeling: Outtakes & Rarities 2015-2021. They are sharing the title track which is a ramshackle guitar barn-burner that sounds like a 90s Dinosaur Jr. track. 

Juliana Madrid - "Pretend"

 

Awesome power-pop single from up-and-coming Texas singer-songwriter Juliana Madrid. Her gorgeous voice floats above a driving drum beat and echoing guitars. This is one of the best pop songs of the summer.

Pencey Sloe ft. Alcest & JK Flesh - "The Run I & II"

French shoegaze/dream pop band Pencey Sloe has just released their new album Neglect. They combined two parts of the song "The Run" into one. It features contributions from Alcest‘s Stéphane “Neige” Paut and Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh). It's a dramatic track featuring soaring guitar work.

Ellie Goulding - "Easy Lover (Four Tet Remix)"

Last month, Ellie Goulding released her new single "Easy Lover (ft. Big Sean)" which is a decent pop track. She handed over the reins to Four Tet for a remix and he definitely amps up the BPMs and turns it into something insistent and killer. 

TLF Trio - "Passacaglia"

Danish musicians TLF Trio has recently released a strikingly gorgeous collection of minimal classical/jazz compositions called Sweet Harmony. The first track "Passacaglia" has a beautiful interplay between piano, cello, and guitar.

Holy Fawn - "Void of Light"

Dark shoegaze band Holy Fawn's new single "Void of Light" is a moody, atmospheric track that slowly builds into something ferocious. 

The Soft Pink Truth - "The Anal Staircase (Coil Cover)"

Matmos' Drew Daniel is set to release his latest record as The Soft Pink Truth entitled Is It Going To Get Any Deeper Than This? in October. Included on the album is this cover of industrial legends Coil's classic track "The Anal Staircase."

Sagans - "Coherence"

Sagans is a collective of artists that utilize artificial intelligence in their music and visuals. "Coherence" is a lovely track that shows the influence of early IDM. 

French Police - "COCAINE DOLPHINS"

Chicago synthpop/post-punk act French Police's new single is the deeply dark, and evocatively named "COCAINE DOLPHINS."  

Sylvan Esso - "Sunburn"

Sylvan Esso's ode to the joys of summer is a delightful electro-stomper. It is included on their just-released fourth album, the excellent No Rules Sandy. 

Editors - "Kiss"

UK rockers Editors will release their seventh album EBM next month, their first with new member Benjamin John Power, aka Blanck Mass. You can already feel his influence from their latest singles, adding a sense of menace. The album title is a mix of their names Editors plus Blanck Mass, but it is also a nod to Electronic Body Music from the 80s from bands like Nitzer Ebb and Front 242. "Kiss" is a thrilling dance floor banger with some late Depeche Mode influences.

Hot Chip - "Freakout/Release"

The title track to Hot Chip's upcoming album is a hyper-synthetic dancefloor oddity, inspired by The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army."  

Maggie Rogers - "Anywhere With You"

Maggie Rogers puts on her best Bruce Springsteen road trip coat for this rousing pop anthem. You can find it on her excellent record Surrender. 

Palm - "Feathers"

Philly-based art-rockers Palm releases their first single in four years, the abstract dance funk called "Feathers." Clanking percussion clashes with oblong synths and mantra-like vocals. It's transfixing.  

Diplo ft. Melé - "Make Me Believe"

High energy, disco track from Diplo featuring Melé.

Launder ft. Soko - "Become"

John Cudlip, aka Launder, teams up with French vocalist Soko on the swirling, shoegaze anthem "Become." You can find it on his excellent debut album titled Happening. 

Bess Atwell - "Time Comes In Roses (Igor Haefeli Re-edit)"

Daughter's Igor Haefeli re-imagines this delicate track off of indie singer-songwriter Bess Atwell's album Already, Always. He adds subtle electronics and dusky percussion while still focusing on Atwell's lonely, wandering vocal.

Night Beds - "Shiloh"

Night Beds, the moniker of Winston Yellen, returns with "Shiloh," an atmospheric folky/electronic midtempo ballad that highlights his haunting, emotive voice.

Brian Eno - "There Were Bells"

Musical icon Brian Eno returns with his first solo album in six years titled FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE. Our first taste is the moving, elegiac "There Were Bells" which highlights Eno's emotional baritone over a bed of mournful synths. It's gorgeous work from the legend and makes me eagerly anticipate the full record.
