"Crushing," for me, is the highlight of Eartheater's (aka Alexandra Drewchin) latest album Powders. It's a gorgeous trip-hop love song with hauntingly beautiful strings. 

Majid Jordan ft. Naomi Sharon - "Waiting For You"

Gorgeous ballad from Majid Jordan and Naomi Sharon that gives off serious Sade vibes. 

Beach Vacation - "Lay Low"

Dream pop merchants Beach Vacation just released their exquisite new album Coping Habits. I am really enjoying the shimmering and wistful track "Lay Low." 

Sextile - "Plastic"

From dance/punk/electro hooligans Sextile's new album Push, "Plastic" is a Public Image Ltd. meets ADULT. seering and snarling dance floor throw down. Check out the whole album, it's brilliant.

Victoria Monét - "Alright"

"Alright" is a sexy, slinky R&B track from Victoria Monét's new album Jaguar II. The song was produced by KAYTRANADA. 

Romy - "She's On My Mind"

Romy, lead-singer/guitarist of The xx, has released a fantastic queer-positive dance record called Mid Air. The final track "She's On My Mind" is an exuberant, swirling disco ode to finding out your love for a friend is reciprocated.

James Blake - "Tell Me"

James Blake's new record Playing Robots Into Heaven is a return to his more experimental roots and is all the better for it. "Tell Me" features stuttering synths, plaintive vocals, and a rush of dense drum programming.

Olivia Rodrigo - "Bad Idea Right?"

Like a mash of The Cars with The Breeders, Olivia Rodrigo's "Bad Idea Right?" is an awesomely bratty single about backsliding with your ex.  

Icona Pop - "Faster"

My favorite surprise this year is the first album from Swedish duo Icona Pop in ten years, Club Romantech. It's chock full of club bangers and is a non-stop party. "Faster" is a high-energy house track with pounding drums and rave synths.
