Favorite Albums of the 1990s

My friend Matthew out in California is always throwing out challenges to me, usually in the form of lists. We've been going back and forth on this one for awhile, with neither of us really sitting down and doing it. We recently completed the list for our favorite CDs of the 2000s, and then go back and forth agreeing and disagreeing over each others choices. A few weeks ago he brought this new list up in a back handed way, and knowing he was not really serious about it, I went ahead and put one together. He was a bit miffed that I completed mine first. But thems the breaks, as they say.

So here is my list of favorite CDs of the 1990s. Of course, Loveless ended up on top as was inevitable. I was more shocked that Mezzanine worked its way to number two, bumping out OK Computer. That's the great thing about these lists. You never know what the ending is going to look like. And later, you can always change it to suit current tastes.

Without further hemming and hawing, here is my list. The number 60 is a very arbitrary number. I really just made sure each disc had a firm reasoning why it was on the list.
