Grrrr.

The other night we were at a bar in the Castro and a straight couple from England struck up a conversation with us. Their accents were so thick, at first I thought they were German. I could barely understand what they were saying. They were very nice, however, towards the end of the conversation I was thinking in my head "please go away now."

I find it odd that we have two palm trees in front of our house.

I was looking down Davis Street (Financial District of San Francisco) trying to figure out why the top of the building at the end of the street looked so weird. It was the top of a cruise ship.

It's been in the upper 80s here this week. I did not sign up for this.

This reminds me of my friend David.

I gave a presentation down in our Menlo Park (Silicon Valley) office. It is a nice office, but it's in the middle of nowhere.

I will admit to being jealous of all my friends in Sitges.

Found out today that I have to take the California Bar exam within a year of coming here. I was not aware of that, not that it would have deterred me from coming here. I can moan and groan about it all I want, however, I need to take it. So, I will buckle down and get it done.

The big debate in my mind right now is whether to handwrite or use a computer to take the exam.  I graduated law school right as using computers was beginning, so I have never taken a law school exam or anything similar on one.  I may just stick to handwriting so I am comfortable.

San Francisco has some beautiful men.

Much needed this week.

It's been so hot at night, I haven't been doing any reading in bed. The heat just zaps the energy out of you.

We unpacked the rest of our boxes this week. It still amazes me how how much crap we ended up bringing with us.

I am ready for some quiet nights at home.

If you had the chance to redo one thing in you life, would you, and if so, what would it be?

Stop giving idiots attention. It just makes things worse.

Yes.

Metric is one of those bands that I love their singles but their full lengths do nothing for me. Their new record Pagans In Vegas is surprisingly solid.

We went the Sanctuary party on Sunday night. It was in the same club that Real Bad is in, and it just felt weird there. Also, the music was just so so. Phil B was really off and Morabito was just fair. It did not warrant the steep ticket price, that is for sure.

While it has been a challenge to integrate myself into our office here, I am slowly and surely getting a better foothold.

John Grant's video for his song "Disappointing" is better than the song.

I thought I might like Peet's coffee better than Starbucks, but no.

It's hard getting accustomed to having a roommate again.

Your cute for the day.

Lyrics Rattling Around My Brain

"The cut-out eye holes in your mask
They're windows into your soul
Painting pictures of your past

I’m not a pessimist
I’m just a realist

I fell for my own honeytrap
I swear I saw it coming
I wish I could take it back

There’s no prosperity
I'll never belong here

I've never belonged here
I'll never belong
I've never belonged here

You play your cards close to your chest
Cause’ this is the age of
The 'bystander effect’

I’m not a realist
I’m a surrealist."

Secular Ghost
"The Bystander Effect"

Appealing Things

New episodes of Black Mirror
The return of The Leftovers
Metric
Dinner on someone else's tab
Walking in San Francisco
Dancing with good friends

Annoying Things

Having to take another Bar Exam
San Francisco heatwaves
Constantly being accosted by homeless people
When MUNI stops running for no reason
