Yeah you, you know who you are. You aren't fooling anyone.
In a year of such amazing albums, the one album I truly thought would be my favorite, Darkstar's Foam Island, has become the most disappointing. After hearing four flawless singles, I was prepared to be blown away. Instead, you get a couple of other decent tracks and a slew of mind-numbingly pointless ambient interludes with nonsensical spoken word.
I'm beginning to forget what seasons are.
Every day at 1 PM in my office the sun hits it to where it becomes a raging inferno. It also appears the AC cuts off at 1 PM as well and does not come on until 2 PM. It's a horrible hour to wait.
It is interesting how when calculating the best way to get somewhere in SF, sometimes it takes longer to get somewhere via public transportation than walking.
I'm down with that.
There are many people who would benefit from having their face smashed repeatedly with a metal chair.
I'm so tired of having a micro-managing boss.
In the mornings when I cross over California Street downtown, I can hear the trolley lines rattling. There is something peaceful and calm about it.
I saw the band Braids the other night at a small club in Protrero Hill called Bottom of the Hill. It was an odd little set up, but the sound was good and, more importantly, the crowd was awesome. No one pushed or crowded you, I only saw one or two people with their phones out, and there was minimal talking during the set. I have only been to small venues so far, so I am assuming the larger shows have a bigger douche quotient. But for the moment, seeing shows in San Francisco has started to restore my love of live concerts.
I'm still figuring out the transit system here. I got on the right numbered train on the way to the concert venue last night, however, I misread the destination point and the last stop of that particular bus was well before my own.
Yes.
I have been trying to get the rest of my bar admissions requirements taken care of this week, one of which is having my MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam) score transferred from GA to CA. I keep getting transferred back and forth between different departments and organizations, all of which tell me to call/email the other ones. I was finally able to get it though, and thankfully I passed it with a score that meets the CA requirement.
You know you are becoming a jaded San Franciscan already when you shudder when people call it Frisco or San Fran.
Is baseball still on?
You know work is slow when the people you generally ask for work start asking you for work.
There are so many books out there that I need/want to read. So little time to read them.
What is this new trend of college students being offended by everything. Isn't the point of going to college to get a broader perspective than before?
I want to give this to so many people.
Missing Atlanta Pride this year really makes this move seem very real now.
If your body tends to sweat a lot, khaki pants are not your friend.
Work has been bipolar lately. I am either slammed with work and barely have time to take a breath, or it's full stop and I am scrambling around trying to find something/anything to do to bill some hours.
It still surprises people that I enjoy a lot of pop music. Right now, I am really enjoying the Selena Gomez record. It is a very good pop album. It is not quite as amazing as the Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande records, but it is almost their equal.
Your cute for the day.
Lyrics Rattling Around My Brain
"I'll boil easier than you
Crush my bones into glue
I'm a go-getter
The system's in red
The room is inbred
I'm a go-getter
Don't hold no harm
Don't hold no harm
My children despise my wonderful lies
I'm a go-getter
I see through your walls
And your space down your halls
I'm a go-getter
Don't hold no harm
Don't hold no harm
The fever I feel, the fake and the real
I'm a go-getter
My world just expands
Things just break in my hands
I'm a go-getter
Don't hold no harm
Don't hold no harm."

Folsom 2015 Edition:
It is much easier navigating the weekend when you live here.
You can't make definite plans with anyone that weekend, there is too much going on.
The sunset cruise was really fun and gorgeous views of the city.
The BMB Party still never fails to be one of the best parties of the weekend. Lots of very nice, sexy men dancing their hearts out.
I had no idea what to expect from Magnitude this year. The venue, aside from a few hiccups due to it not being completely finished, was a massive space that really fit the theme and mood of the party. Pagano threw down some amazingly dark and sexy beats. The play area, on the other hand, the less said about it the better.
We stupidly decided to continue the evening at Aftershock. While we love Abel, and he was playing some wicked fun music, we just don't enjoy the party because of the crowd. Too many cracked out twinks who are all severely rude and boorish. We will not be returning.
The Fair itself was pretty much the same as always. I enjoyed seeing everyone for a few hours, had my fill, and we went home for a nice long nap.
Real Bad is still a phenomenal party. It's very well run, all for a good cause, the music was awesome, and the people in attendance were all very happy and fun to hang out with.
Monday is a very rough recovery day. We slept late then finally ventured out for some pizza. Pizza has never tasted so good. We ended the day at the Lookout for Recovery. Was nice to have a few drinks and chat with friends.
We had a blast with our long time FB friend Dustin from St. Louis. It was his first visit to SF and his first Folsom. I think we showed him a pretty awesome time.
Tuesday after Folsom has to be the most depressing day ever.
Of course!
My firm's lease is up next year and they finally announced that they are redoing two floors above us in our current building. At least I won't have to change my commute.
Adderal and coffee are an evil combination.
Work has gotten so weird and surreal I really don't quite know how to handle it anymore.
I love when I clicked on the Online Only option for the BarBri review course for the CA bar exam, it gave me a dire warning that it would be better for me to take a structured in-class survey. Well, if you offered an evening class I would have, but I work full time and don't have the option to take the morning class.
LOL.
It still amazes me when you see people with flip phones.
I could really use a beach vacation right about now.
We still haven't found good wings in San Francisco yet.
Your cute for the day.
Lyrics Rattling Through My Brain
"Blue, red, lightness, colorful
How much currency is a bitch, girls playing
Celebrate, glasses black, die young
White beer, drunk full, real blood, white bull
Candy, candy
Bite break, hold it out, so I go warp
Time, time, push it, push it
Coming on, then we here,
It's so weird and wonderful Alice
You live without, I don't wanna know
Blow it all out, don't wanna hear the stats girl
All I wanna do is fly next to you
And fly amongst the stars
So rise, rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
What's this shit all about?
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise
And now baby I'm on my own
Go now tell me you've been gone for far too long
Down torch, smoke calls, light bone, small spots
On bitch, play it three, clean cut,
Black what, girl boy, talk white privilege
Eat cool, mixed up, American evil bitch
Uptown in balance, kept the tune artistic
Same bitches something tea, digital narcissism
Dead light, ask space, left to pressure your planes
Rise up, deepest, prefix
You live without, I don't wanna know
Blow it all out, don't wanna hear the stats girl
All I wanna do is fly next to you
And fly amongst the stars
So rise, rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
What's this shit all about?
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise it all up
Won't you rise
And now baby I'm on my own
Go now tell me you've been gone for far too long
Lazarus, rise, rise
Lazarus, rise, rise."

These days at work, I only look forward to when I can go home and not deal with it. I am starting to feel less like a person and more like a number.
I was recently told by my boss that I needed to be "on call" for this one client and project, and that this, going forward, would likely be how projects were staffed. I had to shake my head. I've been doing this work for over 7 years now and have never been on a project like this.
I have "liked" the new Chvrches tracks off their new record Every Open Eye, but have not "loved" them. I was worried what the actual record would sound like, however, it has turned out to be quite a fun, sparkly pop record.
Always.
Last week was one of those weeks the Universe reminded me that I am its bitch.
The pizza at Delfina was excellent.
Andrew and I had our first beach excursion in San Francisco at Marshall beach, which sits picturesquely next to the Golden Gate Bridge. Aside from it taking forever to get down to the beach itself, it was a lovely day and we had a lot of fun with some friends.
The bad news is BarBri, the bar review course I plan on taking, does not offer evening classes for the February bar exam. The good news, however, is that they offer the classes online and I can structure the lectures anytime I like, and can get started two weeks before the actual in-class lectures start.
Yes.
Folsom weekend starts tomorrow!!!
As an attorney, I have never had anyone truly mentor me. It has been quite frustrating over my career.
It always fascinates me how someone who is basically a 40 year old mean girl can still hold so much sway over so many people.
I know it would be wrong, but there is a partner in my firm I really want to call them an idiot to their face.
I have finally gotten back into a workout routine. I am still going early in the morning, which I like. The only bad thing is that it can be a little weird walking to the gym at that hour.
Your cute for the day.
Lyrics Rattling Around My Brain
"Light is all over us
Like it always was
Like it always was
Shaped, by the clearest blue
But it's not enough
It's not enough, not enough
Just another time I'm caught inside
Every open eye
Holding on tightly to the sides
Never quite learning why
You'll meet me, you'll meet me
You'll meet me halfway
Whenever I feel it coming on
You can be well aware
If ever I try to push away
You can just keep me there
So please say you'll meet me
Meet me halfway
Tied, to the shifting ground
Like it always was
Like it always was
You, were the perfect storm
But it's not enough, it's not enough
Not enough, not enough
Just another time that I go down
But you are keeping up
Holding to a hope you'll undermine
Never to be reversed
Just another time I'm caught inside
Every open eye
Holding on tightly to the sides
Never quite learning why
Whenever I feel it coming on
You can be well aware
If ever I try to push away
You can just keep me, tell me
Tell me tell me, you'll meet me
Tell me tell me, you'll keep me
Tell me tell me, you'll meet me
Will you meet me more than halfway up?
Shaped by, clearest blue
Shaped by, clearest blue
Shaped (will you keep it half-a-way)
By, clearest blue (will you keep it half-a-way)
Shaped (will you keep it half-a-way)
By, clearest blue (will you keep it half-a-way)."
