Lucas With The Lid Off

Lucas (nee Lucas Secon) is a Danish-American producer/rapper/DJ, who is more famous for being a producer for the likes of Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue than for his own musical output. However, he was wise enough to align himself with an up and coming French director named Michel Gondry, who directed this amazing clip.

The song itself is nothing special. A jazzy, bubbly "rap" track that is fairly forgettable. Luckily it is paired up with some stunning visuals, and even more importantly, it was all done in one take with no CGI. Gondry is probably one of the most breathtakingly creative artists out there, and here he was just starting to hone his craft. The video begs to be watched over and over, trying to figure out how he did everything. This is why his video is one of my top favorites of all time.
