Eartheater - "Pure Smile Snake Venom"

 

Eartheater (aka Alexandra Drewchin) has two albums on the horizon. The first, Powders, will come out next month and the companion record Aftermath will arrive sometime next year. The first single from the Powders is co-produced with her frequent collaborator Sega Bodega. "Pure Smile Snake Venom" is futuristic and darkly enchanting, erupting into a bright midsection of acoustic guitars and twinkling synths.

Mall Grab - "Everything"

Australian producer Mall Grab, aka Jordan Alexander, has released a new single called "Everything." It's a ravey dance track with a dusky voice intoning "love is everything," while a melancholy synth line weaves in and out of the glittering keyboards. 

The Church - "Realm Of Minor Angels"

Gorgeous bonus song off the upcoming expanded version of the Aussie dream/psych pop icons' latest record The Hypnogogue.  

The Armed - "Public Grieving"

Detroit art-punk-hardcore band The Armed released their fifth album today called Perfect Saviors. The album is a sleeker, stadium-ready collection of songs. Closing track "Public Grieving" starts innocently as a piano ballad, but explodes into a jazz-fusion dream pop soundscape. 

Sufjan Stevens - "So You Are Tired"

Sufjan Stevens is returning to his Carrie and Lowell singer-songwriter mode with his upcoming album Javelin. The first single is the delicate piano/guitar ballad about the ending of a relationship. It ends up blooming with strings and a wonderful chorus of backing vocals.  

NEIL FRANCES - "Standing My Ground"

LA dance duo NEIL FRANCES throws down some funky disco on the infectious single "Standing My Ground."

Nathan Fake - "Boss Core"

English producer Nathan Fake shows affection for Amber-era Autechre on the hypnotic track "Boss Core" from his latest release Crystal Vision; synths wind and curl around a shuffling, propulsive beat.

Jessy Lanza - "Midnight Ontario"

Jessy Lanza's new album Love Hallucination is a brilliant collection of electronic and dance tracks. She teams up with producer Jacques Greene on the exquisite "Midnight Ontario" with its complex drum programming and minimal keyboards. 

seventh stitch - "the red book"

seventh stitch is the more introspective, moody project of DJ Jon Gooch (Spor, Feed Me). He just released his first EP, murmuring chasms of nostalgia. "the red book" feels like a more hard-edged Burial track with buzzy synths, ghostly vocals, and a haunting heart monitor beep in the background.

Blonde Redhead - "Before"

Blonde Redhead is set to return next month after an eight-year absence with their new record Sit Down For Dinner. "Before" is the third single from the album and it is a dreamy track with lovely multitracked vocals and atmospheric guitars. 

Slowdive - "The Slab"

"The Slab" is the third single from the shoegaze legends' upcoming record Everything Is Alive. It's the closing track and a mesmerizing, oceanic swell of a song; one of their heaviest to date.

Lost Girls - "Ruins"

Experimental producer Jenny Hval teamed up two years ago with multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden to form the duo Lost Girls and released the album Menneskekollektivet. Now they have released the one-off single "Ruins" which is propelled by lush drum programming, a meaty, melodic bass line, celestial synths, and Hval's emotive vocals.

Drop Nineteens - "Scapa Flow"

Boston shoegaze band Drop Nineteens returns with Hard Light, their first album in over 30 years. The first single is the wondrous "Scapa Flow" with its walls of swirling guitars; a welcome return.

Freak Heat Waves ft. Cindy Lee - "In A Moment Divine"

Gorgeous waves of pillowy synths flutter over subtle breakbeats in Freak Heat Waves' track "In A Moment Divine." Cindy Lee's aching vocals lend an air of hopeful melancholy.
