Yves Tumor - "Echolalia"

 

Yves Tumor is set to return with a new record in March titled Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). They already teased the record with the first single "God Is A Circle." The second single, "Echolalia," is a dense mesh of propulsive bass, stoic drum beats, and burbling electronics.

Frost Children - "FLATLINE"

Brother and sister hyperpop duo Frost Children releases their first music of 2023 with the squelchy dance anthem "FLATLINE."  It's quite fun.

SG Lewis - "Missing You"

The new SG Lewis album, AudioLust & HigherLove, is chock full of excellent synthpop, house, and disco bangers. Missing you is a sparkling, bouncy synthpop confection that will make you want to dance like an idiot.

Andrew Broder ft. KAZU & serpentwithteeth - "THESE SEAS"

Andrew Broder teams up with KAZU (Blonde Redhead) and serpentwithteeth for the track "THESE SEAS," which will appear on his upcoming record The Show Original Soundtrack. It's an evocative song that utilizes the vocalists perfectly, with their voices weaving in and out of one another over a sinister bed of pulsating electronics. 

Weval - "Don't Lose Time"

Dutch electronic duo Weval's new single "Don't Lose Time" is a slow-burning track that builds into a complex mix of electronica and IDM. It will be featured on their upcoming record titled Remember.

Model/Actriz - "Crossing Guard"

Brooklyn band Model/Actriz is releasing its debut album next month. The first single is the throbbing, wiry dance-punk track "Crossing Guard." Imagine if LCD Soundsystem went in a more Public Image, LTD/industrial direction, which would describe the sound perfectly. 

Art School Girlfriend - "A Place To Lie"

Art School Girlfriend, aka Polly Mackey, returns with her first new music since 2021. "A Place To Lie" is an evocative track with insistent drums, aching synths, and subtle rave-like touches. It's a welcome return and shows her moving in a new direction.

Ryuichi Sakamoto - "20211201"

The former member of Yellow Magic Orchestra created his latest album 12 as a way to take his mind off cancer treatments. The ambient tracks are all titled based on the day of the recording. This track is haunting and lovely. 

Belle and Sebastian - "When We Were Very Young"

Winsome, melancholy track from Belle and Sebastian about looking back at your early wants and desires and no longer caring; only wanting to be content in routine. It is off their excellent new record Late Developers. 

Tennis - "Let's Make A Mistake Tonight"

Sparkling synthpop track from Tennis' upcoming album Pollen.  

ones ft. just lil - "burning"

London musician ones teams up with just lil for this delicate track with minimal drum programming and subtle electronic flourishes. 

Daughter - "Be On Your Way"

English trio Daughter announced the release of a new album Stereo Mind Game, their first non-soundtrack release since 2016. First single is the atmospheric "Be On Your Way." 

Nuclear Daisies - "Hush"

Austin, Texas band Nuclear Daisies throw down some Curve-esque dream pop/shoegaze on the swirling track "Hush." 

M83 - "Oceans Niagara"

After a 7-year absence (aside from soundtrack work) M83 is set to return with a new album, Fantasy. The first taste of the new record is the skyscraping synth-guitar workout called "Oceans Niagara."

Everything But The Girl - "Nothing Left to Lose"

Everything But The Girl returns after 24 years with the dark and throbbing downtempo track "Nothing Left to Lose."
