Inspired by Bret Easton Ellis's novel Less Than Zero, Kids In LA, the second album from Kisses, the duo of Jesse Kivel and Zinzi Edmundson, is a sun-kissed synthpop record that archly comments on these LA characters and their over privileged, over sexed, over drugged lifestyles. These songs, however, lack any of the bite that Ellis brought to his novel, Kivel and Edmundson choosing to look upon these kids as over-protective parents.
