Jam of the Day: How to Dress Well - "Nothing"

To me, How to Dress Well's new, visceral record The Anteroom is everything Bon Iver's electronic foray 22, A Million was not, unabashedly experimental, but keeping a firm grip on melody and flow. One of my favorite tracks is the intense "Nothing," which twists and distorts Tom Krell's voice over slamming beats and glitchy electronics, as if Depeche Mode had embraced Nine Inch Nails and Autechre.

Jam of the Day: Helena Deland - "Take It All"

Haunting, trip-hop inspired track from Helena Deland's 12" project From the Series of Songs “Altogether Unaccompanied.” The song is also made even more affecting by this eerie video.

Jam of the Day: Jessie Ware - "Overtime"

Produced by Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford and Bicep's Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar, Jessie Ware's new single "Overtime" is a return to her dancier roots. This is late night, bass-heavy club track that is a wonderful earworm. Jessie has indicated her new record will be more in this vein and I, for one, am pleased to hear that.

Jam of the Day: Beacon - "On Ice"

Production duo Beacon return soon with their new record Gravity Pairs, and tease it again with this exquisite track, "On Ice." While the moody synths and crisp programming conjure images of snowy vistas, vocalist Thomas Mullarney III's warm vocals offer a delicate contrast.

Jam of the Day: Tōth - "Co-Pilot"

Haunting song about losing someone important in your life but accepting it gracefully. It has some really beautiful lyrics.

"I thought you were my copilot
How will I ever run this ship
Without you by my side to navigate
Thought you were my copilot
My copilot
Now I know that you were just taking me for a ride
And that's alright it was a beautiful ride."

Jam of the Day: Charli XCX and Troye Sivan - "1999"

Fun collaboration between Charli XCX and Troye Sivan that waxes nostalgic about the late 90s, from the Matrix-themed cover art to references to Britney Spears' "...Baby One More Time."

Jam of the Day: Alpines - "Out of View"

I've always enjoyed London duo Alpines' trip-hop/downtempo tracks, but there always seemed to be one thing missing to really make me love them. If the first single from their new album is any indication of their new direction, then I think they have found that missing element. The music has gotten darker, deeper, and fuller, finally matching singer Catherine Pockson’s massive voice.

Jam of the Day: Gotts Street Park ft. Celeste - "Both Sides of the Moon (Live)"

Soulful and heartbreaking collaboration between the amazing collective called Gotts Street Park and new singer Celeste, whose vocal range and emotional connection are sublime. This song is the opposite of flashy, with sparse, minimal accompaniment that is the perfect foil for Celeste's tender interpretation. Prepare to be stunned.
