Jam of the Day: Madge - "Alice"

Really fun, quirky pop song from up and coming singer Madge. She sounds like the goofy younger sister of Grimes and Charli XCX. Check her out; she's one to watch.

Jam of the Day: Interpol - "If You Really Love Nothing"

"If You Really Love Nothing" is the lead track off Interpol's new record Marauder and is a aching song that sets the tone of vulnerability and disillusionment that permeates the record. Kristin Stewart stars in the shadowy video.

Jam of the Day: The 1975 - "Love It If We Made It"

There's something endearingly over-the-top about this highly political song that I just love. This single is from their upcoming record A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships. I can't find any info to back it up, but it seems like they sample or at least pay homage to The Blue Nile's "Downtown Lights."

Jam of the Day: Kodacrome - "Eyes So Round"

Brooklyn duo Kodacrome return with their new record Think of the Children. Their sound is like early Goldfrapp mixed in with a little Phantogram and Sylvan Esso. "Eyes So Round" is the dramatic closer to the record. The album itself is a true jewel; definitely worth checking out.

Jam of the Day: Foxing - "Heartbeats"

It's been fascinating watching the progression of St. Louis band Foxing. Like The National, each of their releases gets more and more confident, finding their own voice and trajectory. Their third record Nearer My God is by far their most exploratory and gutsy record yet. "Heartbeats" is a dramatic, soul-searching track that builds into a swirling hurricane of intense emotions.

Jam of the Day: half•alive - "still feel"

Indie rock trio half•alive have released their new, infectious single called "still feel." It's a super catchy rock track with some funky undertones. Even more impressive is the video, which is sort of like an indie-rock version of Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity," with some carefully orchestrated choreography.

From Santigold's dancehall album I Don't Want: The Gold Fire Sessions, "Coo Coo Coo" is a delightfully frothy summer jam that is perfect for sitting by the pool, cocktail in hand.

Jam of the Day: Litany - "Call On Me"

Yorkshire duo Litany, Jake Nicolaides (production) and Beth Cornell (vocals), release another catchy single that draws from 90s alt-pop and R&B, with a dash of synthpop. "Call On Me" is about that first freedom you get as a teenager. It's a really fun track, and Cornell has some very rich pipes. Check out their 4 Track EP as well, if you want to hear more.

Jam of the Day: RÜFÜS DU SOL - "Underwater"

Jam of the Day: Aphex Twin - "T69 Collapse"

What starts out as a lovely take on prior Aphex Twin tracks suddenly disintegrates into almost madness, with Richard D. James expertly holding onto sanity.

Jam of the Day: Rosalía - “Pienso en Tu Mirá”

Catalan singer Rosalía's new song "Pienso en Tu Mirá" from her upcoming record El Mal Querer, is a lovely mixture of flamenco and hip hop that is anchored by her exquisite voice. Also, the video is a strikingly surreal tableau.

The formidable Neneh Cherry returns with this haunting track about Europe's refugee crisis. Co-produced by Four Tet and Massive Attack’s 3D, the song rests on a dubby backdrop, with a loping bass line, twinkling keyboards, rising strings, and Cherry's always commanding voice.

Jam of the Day: DJ Koze - "Pick Up"

This is my song of the summer. Its brilliance lies in its simplicity: looped strings, a lovely guitar riff, an insistent bassline, a disco beat, and a haunting Gladys Knight vocal sample. This song could go on and on forever, and I would not be mad about it.
