Jam of the Day: Mina Rose - "Paradise"

Up and coming R&B singer Mina Rose channels Massive Attack's trip-hop vibes on her new single "Paradise," that echoes "Unfinished Sympathy"'s strident piano and swirling strings. It's quite majestic.

Jam of the Day: Astrolemo - "Stay With Me"

Simple, yet haunting electronic pop track from Astrolemo, that is reminiscent of bands like Junior Boys and Beacon.

Just in time for Pride celebrations everywhere, Berlin-based electro-pop duo Evvol unleash their fantastic queer anthem "Release Me."

Jam of the Day: Roisin Murphy - "Plaything"

It is completely criminal that Ms. Murphy isn't more of a household name. Granted, she does tend to fall towards the more experimental side of dance music, but when she sets her sights on more pop oriented fair, she never fails to hit it out of the park. "Plaything," her collaboration with Maurice Fulton is a massive dance floor banger.

Jam of the Day: Cosha - "Do You Wanna Dance"

From Ireland, 22 year old Cassia O'Reilly released three EPs under the name Bonzai, but has now re-branded herself as Cosha. From her debut album R.I.P Bonzai, comes this Rostam-produced single that is super infectious and fun. If you like eclectic singers like Neneh Cherry, Nelly Furtado, and Janelle Monae, you will love Cosha. She is one to look out for.

Jam of the Day: Echo Ladies - "Overrated"

Echo Ladies, a trio from Malmo, Sweden, bring to mind early, heavier Cocteau Twins. "Overrated," from their album Pink Noise, marries pounding drum machines, fuzzy, dreamlike guitars, and Matilda Bogren's ethereal vocals into dream pop bliss.

Jam of the Day: Johnny Marr - "Hi Hello"

I will admit that Johnny Marr's post-Smiths solo work has never really done much for me, so imagine my surprise when I listened to his new record Call the Comet. Not only was it a good record, it is actually one of the most solid rock albums I have heard this year. Lead single "Hi Hello" is super catchy, with echoes of "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" in its guitars and strings, but stands out as it own. Definitely check the record out if you get the chance.

Jam of the Day: SOPHIE - "Faceshopping"

As I mentioned earlier in the week, women musicians are killing it this year. On the electronic side of things, producer SOPHIE is making some of the most futuristic pop songs you are going to hear. Instinctively, she knows how to straddle the line between robust experimentation and pop bliss. Her debut album OIL OF EVERY PEARL’s UN-INSIDES is coming out soon, and it is a game-changer. Single "Faceshopping" is monstrously textural.

Jam of the Day: Laura Jean - "Devotion"

Women musicians this year are hitting in out of the park this year. My latest obsession is Laura Jean's record Devotion. The title track is all swoony synthpop, with Jean's achingly beautiful voice anchoring it.

Atmospheric rock from Vienna, Austria quartet Hearts Hearts. It is from their excellent album Goods / Gods. You can listen to it here on Spotify.

Jam of the Day: ISADORA - "All I Want"

Enticing dark pop track from up and coming singer ISADORA. The New Jersey born, London based artist has just released her first EP entitled Battle Royale, which is full of impeccably produced tracks like "All I Want," with its thunderous bass, and other-worldly twinkly synths.

Jam of the Day: Kllo - "Potential"

The Melbourne electronic duo slow things down on this tender ballad, creating a lush track of subtle beats, melancholy piano chords, and Chloe Kaul's achingly beautiful voice.
