Stunning title track to their new EP. Hopefully this will get them more exposure, because they are pretty great. The video is pretty amazing as well.

Jam of the Day: Car Seat Headrest - "Fill in the Blank"

One of the best things about music festivals is coming across a band that you have never heard of and liking them, or seeing a band that you didn't really care for after listening to their record and coming away with a different appreciation for them. Car Seat Headrest falls into the latter category. I didn't have much of an impression after listening to Teens of Denial, however, after seeing their blistering, inspired performance at Treasure Island Music Festival, I left with a better understanding. This was the first song they played in their set, and it's a killer.

Jam of the Day: Youandewan - "Our Odyssey"

Deceptively simple track that builds layers quietly over its 7:50 runtime, but by track's end has taken you on a beautiful journey, earning its emotions. You can listen to the track here on Spotify.

Jam of the Day: Sylvan Esso - "Radio"

I just saw them yesterday at the Treasure Island Music Festival and they put on a fabulous set. They performed a lot of new tracks including this, the first single from their upcoming record. It was nice to see the crowd dancing with abandon.

Jam of the Day: POLO - "Imp"

New Zealand musician POLO's track "Imp" is a strange little song that cuts, chops, and distorts a variety of different vocal samples, most notably Rihanna's "We Found Love," which on paper sounds like it wouldn't work, but the way he sneaks it in is quite haunting.

Jam of the Day: D.D Dumbo - "Satan"

I'm really digging this track from D.D Dumbo that sounds a bit like a Police/Talking Heads hybrid.

Jam of the Day: Phantogram - "Funeral Pyre"

Many years ago, I saw Phantogram at a small club in Atlanta. They opened with a song I had never heard before, and in most set lists it was labeled as "Untitled." I had never been grabbed by a song and a performance before, the song building and building to a point of collapse, bludgeoning you to the point of exhaustion, but sending you into spasms of release. That song is now the lead track on Phantogram's latest record Three. It is called "Funeral Pyre," and it is still amazing. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Jam of the Day: Solange ft. Sampha - "Don't Touch My Hair"

It was almost impossible to pick just one track from Solange's stunning new record A Seat at the Table. This is one of the many highlights.

Jam of the Day: Róisín Murphy - "Thoughts Wasted"

Quirky highlight of Róisín Murphy's brilliant record Take Her Up To Monto. The spoken word piece at the end is mesmerizing.
