Here they are, you have been waiting for them, the videos of the week:
Live footage mixed with urban imagery highlights this gorgeous track from CYMBALS.
Sam Smith is involved in a love triangle in this slick video for his tender ballad.
Basement Jaxx didn't just return to form, they came back blazing with their new single "Unicorn." The single now gets a candy-colored animated video.
Michigan post-punkers Bars of Gold get their faces morphed in this cool clip.
Gorgeous clip from Young & Sick.

A simple, piano-led ballad erupts into electronic fury using a sample from Elliphant's Track "Revolusion." It's an intensely emotional and cathartic track that is impossible to listen to just once.

Gorgeous and haunting track from Jamie Isaac, an up and coming 18-year old from South London. His music is soft and eerie, relying on silences and a muted palette. Some might call it minimal, but for me it is evocative and full of beauty.

Nashville Future R&B-ists BASECAMP remix Sia's skyscraping single "Chandelier" and add their slinky, inimitable stamp to it. Somehow it takes it to a minimalist place, yet retains the song's stadium ready appeal.

London-based singer-songwriter Douglas Dare pairs his prose and poems with atmospheric backing consisting primarily of piano and whispered electronics. From his album Whelm, "Nile" is an evocative track that is propelled by Dare's unique voice. If you enjoy artists like James Blake, Owen Pallett, and Antony, you will likely also fall under his captivating spell.

While the definite touchstone here is the icy, desolateness of Burial, Swedish duo Gidge (a.k.a. Jonatan Nilsson and Ludvig Stolterman) bring a slightly more playful attitude to the proceedings. Over a languid 6 + minutes, this track unfolds gorgeously with stately synths, warped vocal samples, and ping-ponging effects.

A mix of Coldplay's earnest mope-rock and EDM star Avicii's high-powered production sounds like a nightmare on paper, but somehow it all comes together quite nicely. There is a beautiful build to this track, and has some really good bones for future, killer dance remixes.

I'm usually not one to post remixes of songs, preferring to choose the original version of a track to something that is essentially someone else's vision. With Dawn Golden, their single "All I Want" is a perfectly enjoyable Coldplay-esque track that I can see being used in 10,000 movie trailers and key movie moments. It just ever really jumps ahead into a "must hear" track for me. Nudist's remix, however, takes the song and gently tweaks it, making it more lonely and more longing, and has made it that "must hear" song for me. He really makes you hear the desperate longing that is missing from the original by merely warping the vocals, adding verse repetition, and the heart wrenching piano, creating a haunting classic. Below is the remix, along with the original.

More hypnotically woozy indie-pop from the UK duo IYES (Josh Christopher & Melis Soyaslanova). While this is marked as a demo, it already sounds lush and perfect.
La Roux's highly anticipated sophomore record record Trouble In Paradise finally has a release date of July 7. Here is the first look into the record, the slow burning track "Let Me Down Gently."

From her EP of Ital-disco tracks Mi Senti, Róisín Murphy's track "Ancora Tu" is a gorgeous, minimalist song that focuses on her amazingly emotive voice. While I have no idea what she is singing about, you get every emotional cue from her impeccable delivery.
In anticipation of new material coming out from her, including an EP of Italian disco-pop tracks and a new solo record, I am looking back at the brilliant title track to Róisín Murphy's second solo record. We have all been there, thinking we are over someone and then a trigger comes out of nowhere that shuts you down completely. In a simple line, Murphy sums everything up "When I think that I'm over you/I'm overpowered." The brilliant video also perfectly works with the theme of the song.
Here are the videos this week that got me slamming into the weekend:
Languid black and white clip, interspersed with color shots of Lana Del Rey on fire, suits this brilliant single to a "T."
In this clip for her new single, Courtney Love trashes a hotel in spectacular fashion.
Blisteringly intense live clip from Savages.
Striking b/w clip from Doe Paoro.
Shirley Manson and Brody Dalle face off in this clip.

From her breathtakingly sublime record I Never Learn, this song from Lyyke Li just seems to resonate deeply with me. Seriously, I could pick pretty much any song off the record and put it here. You can listen to the track from her SoundCloud page, here.

White Hex, the duo of Tara Green and Jimi Kritzler, are sort of all over the map sonically. Moving easily between synthpop, Italo-disco, techno, and new wave, the band gets a lot of mileage out of their willingness to explore different avenues of their sound. From their second record Gold Nights, the track "Gold" sounds like a dark outtake from Disintegration-era Cure.

Slightly bizarre clip from Wye Oak.
A lonely laundromat is the focus of this clip from atmospheric production duo Cloud Boat.
A children's dance class highlights this clip from Elbow.
Riveting clip from Neneh Cherry, which finds her working again with famed fashion photographer/video director Jean-Baptiste Mondino
