Videos of the Week

Happy Friday everyone. Here are the latest and greatest videos that have been pulling me into the vortex of pleasure.

The new video from Janelle Monae is brilliant in its simplicity. Very intimate and raw, focusing only on her beautiful face and hypnotic eyes.

This song came up on my iPod not once but twice yesterday, which just added to the lengthy drawn out day that it was. I swear the clock kept moving backwards.

Third in a row of very striking and strong video clips from These New Puritans. The cd really has to be heard in one sitting, as it is about as close as we will ever get to a post-punk symphony.

One of my favorite tracks off the Jonsi solo cd. There is an amazing light and life in this song and the cd itself.

I'm not a huge fan of Chromeo. They tend to fall on the wrong side of kitschy and camp for my tastes, but this song is fun and the video is really inventive.

Amazing video from Broken Social Scene shot with 3D rendering technology. It looks like nothing else you will ever see.

Even when their music is less than stellar, Chemical Brothers always use the most cutting edge directors for their videos. Now, we finally have a really good Chemical Brothers cd to pair with another visually brilliant video.
