Haiku Reviews

I'm getting bored with doing the same old thing when I have a lot of cd reviews to get to all at once. To shake things up, here are several reviews done in haiku. Enjoy.

Arcade Fire
The Suburbs
Rating: Grrrr

No more screaming Win
Thoughtful ruminations hence
We were born to run

Kode 9
DJ Kicks
Rating: Make Me Want It Daddy

Dueling acid lines
Ricochet snares penetrate
In thrall to the thrills

Antony & The Johnsons
Thank You For Your Love
Rating: Yeah Daddy Make Me Want It

Angel sleeps quiet
Do not awaken him dear
On tip toes walk soft

Matthew Dear
Black City
Rating: Grrrr

Like Bowie's Berlin
Slippery, sleazy, murky
I need a shower

The Morning Benders
Big Echo
Rating: Grrr

Layering soundscapes
A dizzy ode to summer
Fall please stay away

Rating Guide

Chilfos: masterpiece; coolest thing I've heard in ages.

Woof Daddy: excellent; just a hair away from being a masterpiece.

Grrrr: very good; will definitely be considered for my top albums of the year.

Yeah Daddy Make Me Want It: good; definitely invites further listens and peaks one's interest for more material.

Meh: not horrible, but certainly not good; could have either been trimmed or polished.

Jeez Lady: what the hell happened? Just plain bad. They should hang their heads in shame and be forced to listen to Lady Gaga ad nauseam as penance.

Tragicistani: so bad, armed villagers with pitchforks and torches should run the artist out of the country for inflicting this abomination on the human race.
