Videos of the Week

Some major new releases are coming out in the next couple of months so I am hoping the video releases will increase as well. As such, there wasn't that much out there this week, but this is what was interesting me:

Not sure what to say about Diamond Rings. It's kind of batshit crazy awesome. Like a merging of Lady Gaga, Glee, and a much gayer Patrick Wolf (if that is at all possible).

This is one of my all time favorite Slowdive songs covered by Ivo Watts-Russell's 4AD house band, The Hope Blister. Both versions are amazing; this one has a very haunting quality to it.

Actress is not quite dubstep and not quite minimal techno; he sort of bridges the gap between the two. His album is good. A bit too all over the place, but there are some standout tracks, especially the song "Maze."

Forest Swords' cd Dagger Paths is fast becoming my favorite cd of the year. It doesn't sound like anything I have heard in awhile. It combines dub, post-punk, hip-hop, R&B, and electronic music all in one. This is one of the videos from the album for the song "Glory Gongs."

New single from Ramadanman's new EP. I really like the force and drive of the track.

This goes under the "So Bizarre It's Awesome" category: Jeff Tweedy of Wilco doing a cover of Beyonce's "Single Ladies."

This Cocteau Twins song came up on my iPod the other day and it just reminded me of what an amazing band they were. This song is the epitome of gorgeous.
